Join us as an Indirect Tax Manager and you’ll be a big part of this.
You will take a leading role in Kingfisher’s Indirect Tax compliance obligations for the UK and Ireland businesses including effective business support and project advisory work. You will also support the UK & Ireland Senior Tax Manager with the effective management and minimisation of local indirect tax risks. The role involves line management of a Tax Accountant and an Assistant Tax Accountant – you will supervise and support their development. You will support the UK and Ireland banners with the Indirect tax implications of business decisions and act as a trusted business partner for the local accounting and finance teams. Working with Kingfisher IT Services teams you will support the integrity of underlying financial systems for VAT reporting and will also look to identify and address potential areas of indirect tax risk. You will be able to anticipate and assess industry developments and legislation changes in Indirect tax and advise the business accordingly
You will need to have a broad and comprehensive level of expertise in all areas of Indirect tax along with solid understanding of accounting principles and the impacts on taxation matters. A professional accountancy or tax qualification is essential, whilst experience gained within the retail industry including Bespoke Retail Scheme Agreement knowledge would be beneficial. You will possess strong IT skills with experience of SAP and MS Excel and be technically up to date and aware of industry and legislative changes. You will be able to drive change and work with others to improve control environment and compliance and assess tax risk and balances with commercial aspirations. You will be customer focused in all your deliverables and will possess experience of managing relationships with external tax authorities.
