Job Description:

The Senior Manager, SEO Content Strategy will set the vision for content marketing and SEO strategy for the Luxury division at L’Oreal USA. The Senior Manager serves as the key digital subject matter expert to lead this critical acquisition channel for the portfolio of direct-to-consumer eBoutiques in the Luxury division. In addition, the Senior Manager will oversee internal upskilling in organic search and all measurement tools supporting search marketing. We are looking for a consumer-focused, analytical content marketing professional who is a skilled communicator and has a proven track record of building and scaling organic search strategies, ideally across a portfolio of brands.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead short-term and long-term search projects in partnership with brand site teams
  • Partner with IT and brands to deliver websites with best-in-class performance; provide technical SEO recommendations
  • Manage 3 rd party vendor and agency relationships
  • Provide strategic recommendations for content that will drive natural search traffic
  • Keep abreast of search and integrated marketing trends
  • Identify, test, and scale search innovation pilots
  • Define SEO measurement standards and develop regular reporting across the division; regularly provide insights and troubleshoot issues
  • Champion mobile-first mentality and execute strategies that drive engagement
  • Lead upskilling with brand teams on SEO and opportunities to grow organic share of voice
  • Ensure portfolio of direct-to-consumer sites have best-in-class SEO health and best practices
  • Leverage tools such as Google Analytics, Brightedge, etc. to identify trends and measure performance (traffic, rank, engagement, etc.)
  • Collaborate with PR and social teams on organic posts and partnership opportunities
  • Develop and implement effective search engine optimization (SEO) strategies, including keyword analysis, content strategy, and technical improvements
  • Manage a team of SEO Specialists and Developers; may also include managing and editing content from copywriter consultants
  • Generate and optimize website content, landing pages, search copy, etc.

Job Requirements:

  • Highly organized with proven multi-tasking ability and extensive project management experience
  • Affinity and relevant experience in beauty and personal care brands is a plus
  • Marketing experience including experience with channel marketing, consumer or business marketing program development and execution
  • Solid understanding of eCommerce and high volume online retail businesses
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience
  • Ability to effectively present information to an individual or group, both written and verbally
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS
  • Deep organic search knowledge of search measurement tools (eg. Google Analytics, Brightedge, Ahrefs, MOZ, Screaming Frog, etc.)
  • BS/BA degree required
  • Entrepreneurially spirited; strong work ethic and customer-driven
  • Ability to build successful relationships at all levels of the organization and cross-functionally to staff with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Experience with enterprise level platforms such as Demandware, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and BazaarVoice.
