The Technical Writing Supervisor will lead a team of Technical Writers in support of product documentation manuals for fire alarm control panel products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of new and sustaining product development documentation submittals to regulatory department and manufacturing which includes product manuals, product labels and product data sheets
  • Provides mentorship on writing very complex technical documentations, documentation revision control, running a large, interlocked document library, and translations management
  • Help to build and maintain project schedules that are synchronized with overall product schedules
  • Work closely with Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Management, and Product Marketing teams
  • Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs
  • Research via design documents, prior products, competitor products, internet/intranet, etc.
  • Manages and reviews the work of a group of Technical Writers
  • Ensures standard documentation methods are followed by staffs, in a global platforming methodology
  •  Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets

Qualification & Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in Writing as an individual contributor, and experience extracting product information out of manufacturing databases.
  • Knowledge of detailing complex administration systems processes in a SAAS environment
  • Proven experience relating to different levels of the organization and working effectively with peers
  • Familiarity of version control software
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and Kaizen processes
  • Bachelor’s degree
  •  Experienced working in a PMO
  • Experience delivering high quality documents with tight deadlines in support of Agile Release Train (ART)
  • Experience with JIRA management software
  • High level of creativity, flexibility, and dependability, and the ability to react quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of structured task based writing is a plus
  • 2 years of supervisory experience leading an international and/or remote team of  Writers
